Norma Kamali gave a nod to the timeless style of the late 1930s in her Fall 2012 collection. Sleek silhouettes in soft jerseys, wool, and fur were give a modern pop with checked prints, lame, polka dots, diamond shaped cut outs and emerald cut gems. Kamali topped off the collection with a series of turbans featuring pom-poms and bows to add a girlish flair to a playful collection.

Inspired by a rustic cabin in the woods, camping culture made its way into Michael Kors Fall 2012 collection. Leather, lace and wool and cashmere added a luxe touch to the tartan print in shades of red, white, gray in various print sizes. Even the furs chosen followed the woodland theme in shearling, Mongolian lamb, and raccoon. Any Manhattanite may be swayed to spend a weekend in the woods with a wardrobe like this.

Nanette Lepore is brightening up the chillier season with her Fall 2012 collection. Textile and prints layering played a large role as spiraling designs were layered over an ombre that included the scarves and lace that ran seamlessly from a knit. She kept things flirty and feminine in shifts, circle skirts, and wide leg trousers but added a school girl element with a few short suits and a luxurious touch of fur.

Sheepskin, merino wool, heavy knits, and tailored jersey staples set the stage for EMU Australia's Fall/Winter 2012 collection, the season where the relaxed brand debuted menswear. Known for it's comfortable gear and outdoorsy vibe. The label lived up to its outback standard with an earthy palette and details that added a chic touch to the casual garb: luscious leather with a worn-in feel and belted jersey blazers that could be dressed up or down.

Alberta Ferretti's philosophy for the future includes sleek, contoured, and crisp shapes worn by equally sharp women in muted hues. Ivory, asphalt, and camel suits; thin-belted sheaths with modest hemlines; and laminated trench coats provided the vision for a calculated, clinical, and chic season. While the collection was packed with what to wear from 9-to-5, it was also sprinkled with beaded surprises for cocktail hour.

Fur, fur, and more fur was the running theme for Gilles Mendel's latest J. Mendel collection. Mink, shadow fox, raccoon, and badger weaved in and out of his Fall/Winter looks, ranging from crisp winter whites to sophisticated body-con gowns. The luxe leader incorporated a fade to black ombre technique on a dress, skirt, jacket set, then worked up to a series of sultry, sheer evening gowns and strategic cutouts that command the right kind of attention.

Levi's is rugged, funky, and fresh. It's no surprise the denim staple responsible for introducing blue jeans to the world launched its first global brand with its Fall/Winter 2012 collection. The show, held at SoHo's Mercer 82, featured a more dressed-up denim look with perfect tailoring, sophisticated print mixing, and classic silhouettes —­ a full a-line skirt and slim jumpsuit for women, collared shirts and dual texture pullovers for men — ­ that had a comfortable ease. The audience was treated to an impromptu jam session of a one-man band plucking a banjo, thumping on a box drum and tapping on a tambourine as the models made their final walk.

Go big and bold or go home because Milly by Michelle Smith is pumping up shape and color for Fall 2012. That means tulip skirts in fabulous geometric prints, playful pinstripes in bright green and violet, and an electrifying pink paired with taupe and padded hips. Smith gave us feminine and playful, whimsical and witty, with some softer options that are perfect for the layered looks we love in cooler seasons.

Farah Angsana's Fall 2012 collection isn't for the meek or modest. It's not even for the woman who only likes to make a difference but rather for the woman who wants to be talked about long after she leaves. Models beamed in intricately beaded bodices that led to bountiful gowns and long legs; barely-there bustiers with seductive sheer panels; and ravishing jewel-tone gowns that left us gasping for air. Peacock feathers to preserve a model's modesty? Yep, that's definitely one to get the people talking.

Anna Sui's imagination ran wild, and her new collection was a visual vacation. Fall/Winter 2012 was wondrous: lace on lace on lace under fur, poppy polka dots, and a bright staple that can refresh any woman's gear, colored tights. With Sui, the more the better. Make a monochromatic outfit stand out by mixing different prints in the same color, or opt for argyle instead of full-on stockings, and top it all off with a knit animal cap or gloves. All in all, just have fun!

This season, The Blonds debuted a Fall/Winter theme that was a little Gaga, a lot of biker, and a load of fun. Their motorcycle club couture included sexy, studded leather onesies; razor-sharp, crystal-embellished bustiers; and plenty of metal to match the looks' hardcore 'tude. Still, there were many wearable pieces that would definitely make you an after-hours standout, like a glossy jumpsuit with gold hardware, and bodycon dresses with plenty of bling.
